Explanation of Each Test:
1. Doctor Consultation (In Person or Via Email)
A consultation with a doctor, either in person or through email, to discuss your results, health concerns, and next steps.
2. Male Reproductive Hormone Panel:
- Total Testosterone: Measures the total amount of testosterone in your blood, which plays a key role in male reproductive and general health.
- Dihydrotestosterone (DHT): A more potent form of testosterone, important for prostate health and hair growth.
- FSH (Follicle-Stimulating Hormone): Stimulates the production of sperm in the testes.
- LH (Luteinizing Hormone): Helps regulate testosterone production and sperm development.
- Prolactin: A hormone that, in excess, can cause reproductive issues like reduced testosterone levels.
3. Dehydroepiandrosterone Sulfate (DHEA-S):
A hormone produced by the adrenal glands, DHEA-S is important for the production of other hormones, including testosterone and estrogen.
4. Estradiol (E2):
A form of estrogen, typically measured in both men and women. It can affect fertility, mood, and overall hormonal balance.
5. Progesterone:
A hormone involved in the regulation of the menstrual cycle and pregnancy, it can also impact mood and sleep.
6. Sex Hormone-Binding Globulin (SHBG):
A protein that binds to sex hormones like testosterone and estradiol, regulating their availability and activity in the body.
7. Thyroid Hormones:
- TSH (Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone): A hormone produced by the pituitary gland that regulates the production of thyroid hormones.
- Free T3 (Triiodothyronine) & Free T4 (Thyroxine): These hormones are produced by the thyroid gland and are crucial for metabolism, energy levels, and temperature regulation.
8. Insulin:
A hormone produced by the pancreas that helps regulate blood sugar levels. Abnormal insulin levels can be an indicator of metabolic issues like insulin resistance or diabetes.
9. Parathyroid Hormone (PTH):
A hormone released by the parathyroid glands that regulates calcium and phosphorus levels in the blood, playing a role in bone health.
10. Insulin-Like Growth Factor-1 (IGF-1):
A hormone that promotes growth and development of tissues, particularly in muscles and bones. It's an important marker for growth hormone activity.
11. IGF-B3 (Insulin-Like Growth Factor Binding Protein-3):
A protein that binds to IGF-1 and regulates its activity in the body, playing a role in growth and tissue repair.
12. C-Peptide:
A byproduct of insulin production, it helps to assess insulin production in the body, useful for understanding conditions like diabetes or insulin resistance.
13. Leptin:
A hormone involved in regulating energy balance and appetite. It helps control hunger and energy expenditure by communicating with the brain.
